Advantages of ArmorFlex® and SquishyFlex® Anti-Vibration Mounts

Posted by Polymer Technologies on 8/9/17 3:40 PM

Vibration isolation is an integral part of any engineering project and design. Experienced manufacturers know that stopping excessive vibration is necessary, or else it can cause wasted energy and damaged equipment, leading to broken products, expensive repairs, and reduced profits. Original equipment manufacturers need to be able to trust the reliability of the anti-vibration mounts they install or else they could wind up with subpar products and unhappy customers.

Polymer Technologies understands how important it is to be in control of vibration. As a leading manufacturing company, we pride ourselves on developing the most reliable solutions for vibration isolation, noise reduction, and temperature control. This past fall, we announced the launch of our ArmorFlex® and SquishyFlex® Anti-Vibration Mounts. Below, we’ve listed some of the biggest benefits of using our new, revolutionary line of isolation mounts.

Different Spring Rates

Our line of anti-vibration mounts has different spring rates to meet manufacturer specifications. ArmorFlex® is designed with an ideal axial to radial spring rate ratio which is suitable for engines, compressors, generators, off highway equipment, and construction equipment. SquishyFlex®, on the other hand, boasts three spring rates in three principal directions including axial, lateral, and fore and aft, making them ideal for mobile applications, including towable generators, compressors and transportation bus engines.

Captured and Fail-Safe

If a poorly constructed isolation mount fails, you’ll hear it! Aside from nasty knocking and excess vibration returning with a vengeance, the isolated system could become a projectile and damage your equipment. To avoid causing damage, ArmorFlex® and SquishyFlex® mounts are fail-safe. In the event of catastrophic failure, our mounts remain captured and will never turn into a projectile. Fail-safe mounts are an important safety feature, especially for applications like towable generators and vehicle engine mounting.

Excellent Vibration Isolation

ArmorFlex® and SquishyFlex® have low natural frequencies and provide excellent isolation for frequencies between 480 to 600 cycles per minutes, or 8 to 10Hz. Both types of mounts also have a maximum transmissibility of 10 at resonance.

Durable and Long-lasting

Our line of vibration isolation mounts are durable and suitable for rugged applications involving exposure to harsh weather. Due to their shape and composition, both ArmorFlex® and SquishyFlex® are drip-proof from oils and chemicals.

Maintenance Free

ArmorFlex® and SquishyFlex® do not have any moving parts and require no maintenance or lubrication.

Fast Turnaround Times

We understand that solving vibration isolation problems can be a time sensitive. When you work with Polymer, you get accesses to our fast turnaround times. Thanks to our local warehousing, ArmorFlex® and SquishyFlex® mounts arrive faster than the competition so you can get the job done sooner and at a fraction of the cost.

In fact, we worked with an HVAC manufacturer whose previous supplier couldn't deliver isolation mounts on time. They switched to Polymer in order to use SquishyFlex® and benefit from our local warehousing. To learn more, check out the case study: On-Demand Vibration Isolation Solutions for HVAC Manufacturer.

Vibration Isolation Mount Reference Charts

We take a lot of pride in our products and only provide the highest quality mounts to ensure reliable vibration control solutions. Our SquishyFlex® isolation mounts are comparable to Heavy Duty Stable Flex from Tech Products and Cushyfloat from Trelleborg, while our ArmorFlex® mounts compete with BRB mounts from Mecanocaucho. When you purchase ArmorFlex® and SquishyFlex® mounts, you get reliable performance at a cost-effective price!
